A petting zoo party

IMG_6168You know those moms who are super over-the-top and take a million pictures documenting every living, breathing moment of their child’s birthday party? If that type bothers you, skip this post. IMG_6172I had a dream. That even though we live a plane ride from all of our family, we could make it possible for EBug to be with them on her birthday.

It was my dream and definitely her dream come true. She adores all of her aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. So we picked a semi-central, southern location and invited as many of them as could possibly attend. And wow did we have a turnout!

We are forever grateful to our families for traveling the distance to make her special day a total hit!IMG_6183We started the day off at the Oak Mountain State Park’s petting zoo.

I love looking at these pictures and getting to re-savor her delight at all the animals within her reach. IMG_6164IMG_6194IMG_6179I think there was a sign saying not to chase the animals. Whoops.IMG_6175IMG_6189IMG_6192IMG_6287 IMG_6281 IMG_6275 IMG_6272 IMG_6260 IMG_6257 IMG_6253 IMG_6241 IMG_6237 IMG_6236 IMG_6234 IMG_6231 IMG_6216 IMG_6215 IMG_6213 IMG_6212 IMG_6211 IMG_6208 IMG_6205 IMG_6201IMG_6307

Then we went back to Fletch and Steph’s house to continue the celebration.IMG_6298IMG_6299IMG_6296IMG_6290 IMG_6289IMG_6301There are not enough words in this universe to thank Steph for her help with the food! She made it all possible in a million and one ways.IMG_6312 IMG_6372 IMG_6364 IMG_6359 IMG_6346 IMG_6320IMG_6405IMG_6409IMG_6382She received so many amazing gifts that I think will have us entertained forever. These skates and helmet from G&G were one of the huge hits!IMG_6386IMG_6375IMG_6379Then we spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out and catching up with our wonderful families. IMG_6350IMG_6425IMG_6420IMG_6415IMG_6426IMG_6438It felt just right to be with the people who have supported us and showered love on our girl for the past three years. It was the perfect day. Better than I had even imagined. IMG_6447

  2. Hey girl I found your blog through Katie’s. So glad we’ll be able to keep in touch! It looks like a wonderful party and I LOVE all the party decorations! Where did you get those cute straws and balloons?

    • Hi Lili! I am so glad you found the ole blog 🙂 Now I’ll have to go check out yours! I had alot of help with the decorating. I am not sure where my mom got the balloons, but I think the straws are Target. Hope to see you soon!

  3. The ” destination” birthday party was a four generation reunion! Such a fun way to celebrate being Three!!! Love each beautiful photo of the big day and want to comment on each one….in particular, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, …GP flanked by his zoo pals.
